The Bangalore Diaries

Reached Bangalore safe and sound on Sunday.. unfortunately, was not able to connect to internet.. till now i.e.... was missing blogging.. have been catching up on blogs today since morning!!!!

I dont feel as if i have left Mumbai yet.. maybe thats because we are putting up in a guesthouse right now.. so it feels like a short holiday (havent joined work yet).. as if i am going to back to Mahim in a couple of days!!!!! I am sure i will definitely feel it once we move in to the new house this weekend.

I have never stayed in a south indian city for more than 2 months (we used to go to Kerala during vacations)... even though i am a south indian, i am more of a north indian by behaviour, by nature, by the kind of language i speak, having always stayed in delhi and that too in a colony of sardars (for about 12 yrs).. and then among punjabis..

So it is slightly strange.. to be surrounded by south indians (even though Blr is cosmopolitan).. to hear people speaking in malayalam a lot... in bombay when i used to hear the language, i would always turn around and check out the person.. there is a natural affinity.. here too i am doing it right now... yesterday when i went to fab india bumped into a mallu couple..i went to staring at them till the uncle caught my look and smiled at me.. even then i went on staring with that secret smile on my face, the "hey, i understand what you are saying "look.. but thankfully he didnt get irritated.. :-) .... but i am sure that will stop soon as i am going to be surrounded by south indians .. not laughing when you call dosa a dosha
