Stuck in the lift et al...

We got stuck in the lift.. somewhere between the 11th and the 10th floor of a building... we were in the lift for about 10-15 mins!! Quite strange it was .. nobody screamed, shouted etc etc.. everyone was extremely calm and collected.. there was this lady chatting on the phone asking someone to pick her up. and the words "lift" and "stuck" didnt even feature in the conversation. I was quite amazed... or maybe i am biased because of the lift getting stuck scenes from movies.... wherein people keep screaming.. banging at the lift door!!!! Also maybe because this was the first time i got stuck in a lift... others maybe experts!!!! God knows. (I didnt scream / shout etc)

And finally when someone from outside opened the lift.. we realised we were stuck midway between floors.. but all of us coolly climbed out from the lift!!! Pretty much like the scene from the movie "Speed" except the lift didnt crash behind us!!!!! And that there were no firemen or men like Keanu Reeves either.... or any men apart from those stuck in the lift.... but anyhow we walked down 11 floors! Quite adventurous i thought the entire incident was!!!

Nutella on Marie biscuit tastes awesome.. actually nutella with bread is also great.. but the best is one spoon of nutella by itself!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!

We went an Italian joint last night called Viva Italia.. not a very creative name i know... but quite a nice place.. serves nice Italian food.. i had grilled chicken.. which had this slightly sweet taste to it... i usually cannot eat sweet stuff esp for main course.. but it was really nice!!! But the best part was - as we were leaving, the person running the restaurant gave me a rose!!! How sweet!!! And when we got our car from the valet parking thingy, we saw this thank you note on the dashboard.. and 3 pieces of chocolate wrapped nicely , kept by the card for the 3 of us!!!! Such a sweet sweet gesture!!! I was totally floored!!!! :)

This week is a bad week... loads and loads and loads of work!!! I am working this weekend.. this long weekend that we have.... god have mercy on me!!!!!

And skipped the gym today... and today by my calculations was one of the days that i could actually go to the gym during this week!!!

Maybe i can put this week right.. by sleeping really early.. like... right now!!!!!!!!!

Goodnight!!!!

I'm sure you'll be going back to Viva Italia :) Talk about Customer Satisfaction. They're right up R1's alley! Lol :)

Are you going to gym everyday? I manage to go about 3-4 times a week only :( And work's going to be really bad till Feb end. I'll have to squeeze time out for gym.

God! Being stuck in a lift is one of my nightmares after my MRI sometime back. It made very claustrophobic

Guess what they give at Cabbages and Condoms, Bangkok, after dinner. Not cabbages.

I know this story of this guy who had gone there with a client or something. Was quite embarrassing for him!

There's a scene in this French movie called 'The Closet' in which the protagonist works at a condom manufacturing company. One day they have Japanese clients over & they take them on a tour of the factory. Suddenly they see a man & woman doing it on one of the assembly line belts. Both the company people & the clients are embarassed, and their save their butt by saying they believe in testing their products before they go to the market! Lol!

You should watch this movie when you get the time. It's really funny. It's got Gerard Depardieu in it. He plays this loser whose wife has left him & he has a teenage son who thinks his dad is the most boring person on earth. There are lots of people being sacked in the condom company where Gerard Depardieu works, and his neighbor gives him the idea that he should declare he is gay, so the company can't fire him 'coz firing him would mean discriminating against homosexuals. He does as advised, but the irony is thet Gerard Depardieu is as homophobic as one can be! His job is saved but he is made to attend rallies to promote safe sex, where he is carried around town in this giant float wearing a condom-shaped hat. And his son starts to think his father is the coolest man ever! Not to mention that he starts getting hit on by other homosexuals in his office. Funny movie this.

@Scarlett: The movie seems very familiar. must check it.

I remember being roped into a qual quant client picth in my early days. I had no idea of the study and was pulled into present.

I did this with bluster and when one of the govt uncle types asked how we'd ensure quality I dived into a speech on quality norms and backchecks. Halfway through I figured out that he was referring to a product test which the quant phase was supposed to do!

@Moonshine, I ran out of the caves at Turkey because I found them claustrophobic

Gerard Depardieu is a very famous French actor. I know him b/c when I was learning French, they used to make us watch French movies. He's acted in quite a few English movies as well...Man In The Iron Mask, Hamlet, Paris J'Taime etc. He's a very good actor.
